In my humble opinion a master feels like a master with pendants.
Pendant light height over dining table.
Height of pendant lights over bedside tables.
When hanging a pendant light or chandelier over a dining table the light fixture should hang so the bottom is approximately 30 above the table.
Assuming your table is 30 high the bottom of your light fixture will be about 60 from the floor.
This would allow enough space for people sitting at the table to comfortably have a conversation without the light obstructing their vision as well as the right proportion for the space.
The standard height for hanging a chandelier or pendant lamp over the dining table is 30 inches from the tabletop.
But in a master you gotta go grand.
Dining pendant lights vary significantly depending on the style of light you choose.
A rule some interior designers use is to add 7 8cm for each 30cm.
This range will be your base measurement.
Any less space than that and the light may be too.
I love a pendant light in a master bedroom.
I like this height as it puts the fixture at 5 feet 6 inches above the floor just high enough for me to walk under if the room is rearranged.
Using an average 8 foot ceiling as a guide the general rule is that the bottom of the light fixture should land between 30 and 34 inches above the top of the dining table.
If the ceiling is higher the recommended standard is to raise the chandelier 3 inches for each additional foot of ceiling height.
That gives you a nice amount of breathing room between the two pieces.
When hanging pendant lights over bedside tables i like to allow about 70cm from the top of the bedside table to the bottom of the pendant light.
For example if your ceiling height is 2 4m instead of 2 1m you would hang your kitchen pendant 78 88cm above your island bench instead of 70 80cm.
How high above the table surface should you hang your pendant.
Use it as a rough guideline when planning the placement of your light.
Hang a lamp over a kitchen table or island.
Start with 28 to 34 inches 71 1 to 86 4 cm measuring from the bottom of the hanging light and the surface of your table.
A good rule is to choose a pendant that is 6 narrower on each side than the smallest width of the dining table.
The fixture in my home for example is 36 inches above the tabletop.
But then again rules are made to be broken.
Position a hanging light above your dining table so you have approximately 30 inches between the top of the table and the bottom of the light.
You can do table lamps in guest rooms.
